Thanks for your comment Kees. I think you’re right in wondering about how religion might fill the void once jobs disappear and people search for meaning in their lives (and, on a more basic level, ways to spend their time). I also worry about just how more popular things like drugs and immersive video games might become, as a means of mass societal escapism.
